What Rescue asks of Volunteers (Please Initial)

Consistency – Our animals need this and so do we. If you can let us know what your desired volunteer schedule is we will try to accommodate this. We are asking for at least a 3 month commitment to finding the forever home, usually it is shorter. Dedication – We certainly realize that rescue work can often be unglamorous, thankless and grueling. Please let the thankful eyes of our animals be a continual reminder of how important our work is. The truth of the matter is that without our dedicated volunteers working together as a team, most of these animals would literally not be alive!! We hope you’ll find your experience to be rewarding. Reliability – We ask that you give us a minimum of one week if you are unable to foster any longer. Volunteer Waiver (Please Sign and Date)

In consideration of my employment with Woof Gang Rescue, Inc. (“Woof Gang”), I, the individual identified as “Volunteer” on the signature line below (the “Volunteer”), hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims and damages for personal injury or death which I may sustain or may which hereafter accrue as a result of my participation as an Volunteer. Volunteer acknowledges and understands that: (1) Woof Gang has procedures in place to promote the safety of its Volunteers and takes reasonable measures to create a safe work environment; (2) the nature of Woof Gang’s work has inherent risks; (3) various activities involving dogs generally can be hazardous in nature, which includes, but is not limited to, the possibility of being bitten, scratched, jumped on, dragged or knocked over; (4) various activities involving dog rescue can be hazardous and dangerous in nature, which includes, but is not limited to, the possibility of: (a) hostility or violent reactions arising between Woof Gang personnel and the individual(s) that have their dogs removed from their care; and (5) the possibility of serious accidents and/or injury occurring during participation in Woof Gang’s activities. Knowing the risks involved, I nevertheless voluntarily chose to seek employment, and be employed by, Woof Gang and I hereby agree to assume all risks of injury, and to release and hold harmless Woof Gang, its’ directors, officers, shareholders, and/or agents their heirs, agents, representatives, successors and assignees, from and against any and all liabilities, actions, claims, demands, costs, or expenses arising from or in any way connected with my participation as an Volunteer of Woof Gang, who through negligence or carelessness might otherwise be liable to me. I further agree to indemnify and to hold Woof Gang, its’ directors, officers, shareholders, and/or agents their heirs, agents, representatives, successors and assignees, free and harmless from any loss, liability, damage, cost or expense, including attorneys’ fees, which they may incur as a result of any injury and/or property damage I may sustain while an Volunteer. Further, I have been fully advised that I am not covered by worker’s compensation and am not covered under any medical insurance plan associated with my position with Woof Gang. If any provision of this Waiver is deemed void, invalid, unenforceable or illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, then such provision(s) are null and void, the remaining provisions of this Waiver are unaffected and continue to be valid and enforceable. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS WAIVER AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND AGREEMENT BETWEEN MYSELF AND WOOF GANG.
