Sweet 2 year old Bando is a mixed breed boy that was abandoned in the ACCT parking lot by his owner. He is a super friendly and behaviorally solid dog with people as well as other dogs, and is a medium to high energy. In the shelter, Bando made many dog friends and was even used as a dog tester! He enjoys going for walks with staff and volunteers, and had fun on a day trip as well. Bando was good with both dogs and children during his time out of the shelter, but is now starting to get stressed from living in his kennel for so long. Bando would benefit from getting out of the shelter ASAP into a home where he can decompress and then find the perfect happy ending! Bando's friends had this to say about him during his shelter stay: Per staff 7/25:Noticed Bando chewing on his kuranda bed this evening. Gave him a couple benebones to work on instead, which he took to immediately (he really seemed to like the one covered in peanut butter). Per day trip volunteer 7/16:I wanted to let you know we took Bando out today! OMG what a good boy. He is full of love, great with my kids and other dogs. He is very smart, trainable. Strong and full of energy but will make a great addition to any family! Was not food aggressive. Strong but manageable. All around good boy! I'm attaching photos. Per staff 7/15: Very energetic and mouthy, took a while to get the harness on him Per volunteer 7/14: Meet Bando and his Can-do attitude! Bando is sure to bring some positivity to your day, even in a place as loud and scary as the shelter. Bando is VERY handler focused and would spend all day in your arms getting cuddles if he could! He was abandoned outside of our shelter and is now looking for a kind forever human to cuddle him for life. He's had good dog meets in our care. Per volunteer 7/14: Super easy to leash and very gentle walking with me! Very affectionate boy, when we got outside he jumped right into my lap for cuddles. He took pets and rubs all over. He didn't seem to overly obsessed with treats but took a few and took them nicely! Very wiggly boy! I took him into the volunteer office and he loved everyone he met and was super affectionate. Climbed into the lap of a staff member and Took pets all over. Sometimes got a little nibbly with playing but it was super gentle. Very well behaved boy! Per volunteer 7/13: Bando is an absolutely adorable, gentle little shortstack. He's very sweet and easy going. He was pretty skeptical of the heat and kept trying to find a way back inside to the air conditioning, lol. Bando is happy to make new friends and approaches new people a bit unsure but ready to trust. He's a polite boy and sat nicely for treats, although he decided he did not like the treats I offered. He is loose with all over handling. Bando generally likes other dogs and has made lots of friends, but if a dog is rude he will give a warning growl and walk away. Per staff 7/11: sweetest little boy Per staff 7/10: Bando did well for his dog meet today but was a little nervous. His dog meet partner, Juno, was very jumpy and "in your face". He had a lot of puppy energy that Bando wasn't really into. Bando gave one small correction, but Juno kept pestering and smacking him with his paws. Bando gave a bigger correction but I had already pulled Juno away, and once there was space Bando did not continue. I think he would do better with a calmer dog and slower intros. Per staff 7/10: Bando is a very sweet and nice dog during his time up front with the staff he let me touch all over his body and check his ears with no problem his tail just wagging and looking for friends he greeted other staff with loose body and wagging tail staff gave him a bone and he took it very gentle Videos: Bando and Juno meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/QXUf9VzkuBs?feature=share Sandra and Bando: https://youtube.com/shorts/7h_Se-Wi5_k?feature=share Bando and Lady Bear: https://youtube.com/shorts/vCgQiM4il_s?feature=share Chase meets Bando: https://youtu.be/csXOa83K8Ok Wiggly Bando: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/im1PuLMPL08?feature=share Wiggly Bando 2: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7srJltCCWnM?feature=share Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted.
