Good with - He is good with dogs and cats 3. Good with kids - Should be in a home with older kids since he is blind. 4. Energy Level - Can get around independently and has a lower energy level. 5. Favorite Activity - He loves to be in the middle of the kitchen floor while you are cooking! He does great in the car. Loves to be in the sun. 6. Bonded with - He is not bonded with any fur siblings. 7. NOT good with - I can't find a single thing that he doesn't like! Sweet, chill Melvin. He's so sweet, as a matter of fact, that his pancreas quit doing its job at some point in his life. This blind, diabetic dude is truly wonderful and living out his golden years with tail wags and enthusiasm for meals and treats (seriously, watch your fingers from this snapper!) He still gets around very independently, including some stairs (just a few!) without being able to see much. He's got some old man stubbornness baked in there too, and he's just a precious guy. Might you be his forever family? He's so deserving. His backstory: Melvin is a senior whose loving owner was diagnosed with cancer and only has a short time left. She couldn't afford to stay in the home and had to move to assisted living where she was unable to take Melvin. She had no friends or other rescues willing to help a senior dog with medical problems so an appointment was scheduled for his euthanasia. Melvin is an insulin dependent diabetic and has some vision loss, but he is good with other dogs, and has lived with a cat most of his life. Tier 3 Medical - Medical Condition that may require daily medication and/or prescription food and has underlying disease process that at some point may/may not advance/worsen and needs to be monitored (i.e. elevated kidney values, liver disease, diabetes)
