Meet Grandpa! Grandpa is undoubtedly the most loved and favorite dog here at A&F. A distinguished gentleman, he is a sweet and gentle boy who will be glued to your side. We recently found out he is very sick and is desperately seeking a hospice home where he can be the only pup and get frequent walks all day long. He was found as a stray in rural Oklahoma and spent 40 days at a small shelter with no interest, just quietly watching everyone pass by him day in and day out. Since being with us, Grandpa has been named the unanimous favorite out of all the pups due to his amazing silly personality. He is the perfect amount of goofy, loving, and snuggly. His name came from his previous shelter and we always joked because he really doesn't act old at all, let alone enough to be called a grandpa. Grandpa can be good around other calm dogs but doesn't like cats. Grandpa absolutely loves little humans and would be so happy to have some kids of his own to love on. He is quiet and well-behaved and loves to go on car rides. He is a gentleman on a leash. Grandpa developed a muscular issue making it difficult for him to go pee unless he gets long walks. Grandpa is able to pee as long as he stays on his medicine and gets a fair amount of exercise throughout the day. Sometimes he does need to be taken to the vet for a quick catheter draining though. He would do best in a home where he can get several walks a day to help exercise him so he can go pee. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy. He is so amazing and you won't be disappointed.
