Just three years old, her eyes tell a story we'll never really know. Dumped by her former owner at a kill shelter, lived with other dogs in her prior home, originally passed all evals for adoptions has been dog friendly but when they are limited in space and double up on kennels (meaning multiple dogs in one kennel in a HIGH stress environment) bad things happen... dogs fight. That is what happened with Sophia. She picked on her kennel mate last night, and they kept her in there with him and she did it again with him this morning and then they slapped a dog aggressive label on her today meaning instant ticket to top of the euth list. Just one of the 12 faces scheduled to die today that we could NOT let that happen. She needs SLOW intros with dogs, her entire world was turned upside, imagine how terrified your would be if someone threw you in prison, ripped you from your family with no explanation and all of a sudden your deemed dog aggressive and sentenced to death. The fear an the terror in her eyes say it all. Her life matters, at least to us. Since arriving in our care, Sophia has shown us how much excited energy she has! She loves to zoom around and plays nonstop, she is okay with other dogs as long as they can handle her youthful energy!
