Meet Raya! She was a stray that arrived to the Osawatomie pound with 2 other dogs (one big and one small). She gets along well with other pups and we found out she supposedly lived with a cat in her previous home. We are thinking this beautiful girl is park husky with those 2 different colored eyes. Her foster says: "I can't say enough wonderful things about this sweet girl, Raya. She had been at the pound since March and was shutting down. When we first brought Raya home she was very anxious and wasn't interested in our other dogs at all (not aggressive, just didn't care about them). At first she struggled. She had bad separation anxiety and broke through two crates and ripped a hole through a door. We felt so sad for her obvious struggles with anxiety and didn't know what to do. A&F worked with us and we got Raya on anxiety meds and got her a new, larger and safer crate. We give her all kinds of good treats in the crate and she began to learn we will always come back home to her. Raya now goes right into her crate when we leave and lays right down. She has done a complete 180! Raya has blossomed and now LOVES playing with her foster siblings and is sooo calm and happy. She finds her crate as her 'safe space' and will go in there to nap or just chill. She loves walks, staring out the window, rolling in the grass, peanut butter, and her ever so special squeaky turkey leg. She is 100% house trained, hardly ever barks (only when she's playing), is working on her leash skills, does great with our dogs (slow intros), listens very well and responds to her name and knows basic commands. She has lived with a cat previously but we do not have cats so I cannot say for sure how she would do. I think she would do just fine with kids as she is super tolerant! UPDATE: Raya loves chin scratches and full body scratches as she threads herself around your legs Raya's favorite activity is running; and car rides are a close second. Her most-loved toys are soft squeaky toys and balls - as you can imagine, she does pretty good at fetch. She appreciates a spot on the couch to rest during the day but is content to sleep on her dog bed at night. She would be most appreciative of a big safe place for her to run (6' fence is a must because she can jump short fences). Raya i does worry when she is left alone. Her former foster family said she got along well with other dogs. If I could adopt her I would - honestly she is the most lovable, sweet girl ever. If you are even the tiniest bit interested in adopting her I highly encourage you to meet her! You will fall in love!!"
