Patient, Calm, Sweet Whether the name Ambrosia conjures up the ancient food of the Greek and Roman gods or that sweet, celebrated dessert of oranges and shredded coconut, it fits our Ambrosia to a tee. This regal calico goddess with the yellow-gold eyes is about as sweet as a cat can be. The day Ambrosia's foster brought her home she seemed to feel immediately comfortable in her new surroundings. She even allowed the family to handle the litter of kittens who arrived with her. With a little bit of patience, she also became friendly with the other social cat in the home and even rubbed up against her with purrs! She often prefers being alone and quiet and doesn't care for being picked up or pulled out of a hiding spot, but just put out your hand and she'll leap to her hind legs every time and offer her head to be rubbed. When she's really happy, she'll roll around on the floor seeking as many affectionate pets as possible. And as she gets to know her humans, sleeping on the bed seems to become more and more attractive. While she doesn't usually seek out toys to play with by herself, she's always up for a game of run-and- jump-and-pounce with anything on the end of a human-dangled stick and string. And her voice? Well it normally consists of short little mews, kind of like Kitty Morse Code, but when she wants something that's important to her she'll definitely speak up. Ambrosia would do best in a low traffic home with friendly and respectful human and/or feline companions. She might be a tad shy at first, but she'll return your patience with SO much love! She'd also do just fine as an only cat! She'll happily be the sole recipient of your pets. Ambrosia is a healthy FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) cat.
