Hi everyone! My name is Ralphie! If you're looking for a tiny but fiercely devoted pal, then I'm your guy! I'm an 8-year-old Chihuahua mix who is looking for a nice home to call my own. Right now, I'm just over 6 pounds, but I'm trying to bulk up a little so I'm big and strong! Before I came to live with my foster mom and dad, I had a bit of a rough time. So I can be a little slow to warm up to new friends, but my foster mom thinks I'm worth the wait! Once I know I'm in a safe space, I'm quite the social butterfly. I absolutely love being with my humans and getting all of the pets and scratches - belly, head, butt - take your pick! Sometimes I follow my foster mom around, and she says the sounds of my quick little steps sounds like tap dancing. A typical day for me involves a lot of snoozing and relaxing! I like short outings, mostly to wander around the yard, and am getting used to being on a leash. I don't need a ton of exercise, and I much prefer the occasional jog around a fenced in yard to a walk around the neighborhood. But I recently discovered I love to use a doggy stroller for longer adventures! I have some typical senior pup issues (heart and pain management stuff), but I'm doing a lot better now that I'm on some meds. I'm a very good boy and eat my pills without causing too much of a fuss, especially if it's smothered in some Easy Cheese. That stuff is heaven! So I might come with a little bit of baggage, but who doesn't these days, am I right?! I'll help you carry yours if you help me carry mine! I may be an older gent, but I'm young at heart and still have a lot of love to give! If you are interested in me, click Apply for Adoption! If you're on Adopt-A-Pet or PetFinder please visit https://www.hopeanimals.org/ to apply! ** Please note that due to COVID-19 and stay at home orders, we are not having our usual adoption events.
