We don't know her DNA, but Skye is a looker -- long legs, big smile, delicate fawn color, and a fluffy fox tail with a white tip. Skye is three years old and weighs 54 pounds. She has been waiting since LAST New Year's (2019) for a forever home, but that's only because few homes can accommodate an animal who is all-dog, all the time. Skye has attended a bunch of manners classes. Skye is so smart that she perfectly follows exercises such as "leave it" in the classroom. However, when Skye goes for a walk, she is so happy to be outside that she pulls madly on the leash, taking in the smells, and stopping to roll deliriously on the ground. Skye should be practicing obedience skills every day, in a home environment. Skye jumps right into a car, happy to be tethered and going somewhere, anywhere. Skye is house-trained and she will sleep in a crate overnight if she has company in the same room. Skye does not want to face the shadowy night alone, and who could blame a homeless dog for wanting companionship? Skye loves her human care-givers. Skye wants to play with every dog she sees, but her excitement must be closely monitored because she can get crazy with small animals. Skye's playful exuberance is sometimes mistaken for aggression. Skye is most likely to succeed in an all-adult household. Skye's people should be patient with a dog who teeters on an emotional high-wire. In return for that patience, Skye will be fanatically devoted to her adopter's family.
