Hi, Just wanted to give you some more info about Garth after spending two weeks with him: He is very reserved when you first meet him, tail between his legs, backing away, but then warms up quickly. Men have a harder time earning his trust though. There has been some submissive peeing when he was greeted too enthusiastically. It's best to ignore him at first. He is the biggest snuggler once he trusts you and basically thinks he is a 50 pound lap dog. He bonds very strongly to one person and will be your shadow everywhere you go. Gets along great with all dogs. Loves squeaky toys and treats. He definitely needs a big backyard and maybe someone who will go running with him. He loves it and won't pull when running. We take him on two long walks daily and very long hikes on the weekend and he settles down well after that. He is super athletic and has no problem jumping onto things like crates etc. Would probably be into agility or other sports. He alerts to all kinds of outside noises at night when he is not in his crate. Probably shouldn't live with cats/rodents as he seemed a little too interested in them at a pet expo we took him to. Garth is also not a fan of young children with their fast movements and loud noises. He gets very nervous and starts to pace. He is fine lose in the house or in his crate when you are gone. That's all I can think of for now. He is an amazing dog and if our house was bigger we would keep him. He fits in so well.
