Meet Tonka! Tonka has been in a foster home while going through heartworm treatment. He is now heartworm free. This is the bio from his foster: Bull in a china shop is apt for Tonka. He has no personal space & apparently doesn't believe anyone else does! This goes for playing & resting. He's a huge cuddler with people & dogs (he hasn't had a chance with cats). He needs someone who agrees with the idea of a dog sleeping on their bed. He doesn't always stay the whole night, but he does most nights. He takes correction from people and dogs well but that doesn't mean he won't do the corrected behavior again... He is food/treat motivated, so he's learned sit, down, and stay pretty well. He's working on not jumping ("off" command) and not mouthing, which he does when he's excited. He rarely jumps on me except when he has a dog friend over. He loves people and most dogs. I don't think he'd do well with submissive dogs; so adult, confident dogs would work best with him. He's fine with small dogs, as long as they don't act scared. He loves playing outside & entertains himself chasing lizards and playing with toys. He likes to counter-surf, and since he does that when I'm not home, I have rearranged things. The longer I have him, the less of that he seems to do. He's laidback, no separation anxiety. He will be good with kids 9 or so and older. He barks appropriately, not excessively. He likes riding in the car.
