Gracie is a pure and gentle soul. Anyone who looks into her eyes just melts instantly. Initially timid and shy of people (especially men), Gracie will need a patient and loving home, preferably a home without too much ruckus so that she can adjust. It will take a few weeks for her to warm up but once she does, her loving and playful personality will truly shine. Don't think you're going to be able to go near the door without her trailing closely behind you! Gracie loves her walks, especially in a morning. Rather than having a queen personality, Gracie is more of a princess. She knows exactly what foods she likes and doesn't like and knows exactly how to come over and demand scratchies on her neck. She loves her afternoon naps (yes, she snores) and she loves to roam around and explore, sniffing here and there throughout the house. We are still working on Gracie getting comfortable in a car, but we are confident that this is something she will overcome with the right adopter. Ideally, Gracie would thrive best in a home with another quiet and calm female dog. She needs some inspiration from other female dogs to pee! She can be a little scared to go while adjusting to her new environment and may need some help going. Her potty breaks will have to be monitored so ensure that she is going to the bathroom frequently. Although Gracie does get along with other dogs and likes to play, she doesn't like to play too aggressively and can be extremely timid around dogs with dominant/assertive personalities. Therefore, a household with a female dog on the calmer side would be the perfect sibling for Gracie. Gracie is absolutely the ideal dog. She is so sweet natured, loving, and is truly looking for a family to show her the love and patience she absolutely deserves after all she has been through. This dog is one of the lucky ones rescued from a dog meat truck headed to the Yulin Dog Festival on 6.19.17. We want nothing more than to give these dogs the loving home they deserve. They have been through so much trauma both physically and mentally. If you are interested in adopting, please simply click on the adoption button for this dog to start the process.
