She might not be the lion king but she is definitely the king, or queen, in terms of size up until now. And look at the gorgeous russet coloring and happy, tongue wagging expression. Simba is a two-year-and three-month-old Retriever, Labrador/Mix weighing in at fifty-four pounds. This is such a fabulous age to bring this big girl home because she has some inside manners and is ready to settle in for the long haul. The one caveat is that her previous owner said that Simba was a little food possessive with the family. We have had her under observation here at the shelter and we have not dealt with the issue at all and she has been good with taking treats and letting us get near the food bowl without any issues. Food aggression is something that can be worked on through training and we believe that with love and patience and some boundaries Simba will soon be queen of your house. Simba will make a lovely companion and she does enjoy being outside and getting as much exercise as possible. If you are the kind of person who likes big dogs and being interactive with your pet and are willing to invest the time required to bring out the best in them then Simba is one dog you should meet.
