Hi there! I'm Beaujolais- a really sweet girl who's dog friendly AND cat friendly. I've also been around children and love getting any and all attention possible! I'm a normal dog in all senses of the word, aside from my diagnosis of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a neurologic condition where the movement part of my brain (cerebellum) is undersized, leading to my movements being disorganized and uncoordinated. Sometimes I get really excited and lose control of my wiggly body, so it's important that my owner is aware of space, so I don't injure myself playing. I play well with other dogs but often don't show signs when I'm uncomfortable, so it's nice to have a human advocate who can step in and calm things down for me when others get too rowdy. I love going on daily outings in my stroller, going on weekend outings, brunch; you name it, I'm there! My foster says I'm a total gem who likes snuggling, and I'll make the cutest whine/bark when I want something. I'm a lover in every way imaginable! I may be limited in movement but certainly not in my personality! I can be a sneaky, mischievous girl but not in a destructive way. I need a family who can love me despite my physical limitations and see me as the happy pupper I am! I would need an owner who has the ability to pick me up when needed and can provide mental stimulation. My Cerebellar Hypoplasia does not affect my lifespan, cause any pain, or impact my quality of life and is not degenerative. My foster and TLP volunteers can set you up for success by telling you more about what a normal day-to-day looks like with a gal like me. I would love to find a forever friend I can love furever. If you think it could be you, I hope to meet soon! Your sweet-faced girl, Beaujolais *Adoption note: Beaujolais is Foster to Adopt only so we can help her successfully transition into her new forever home. If the applicant is approved to adopt after an approved application, interview, and successful meet and greets, the adopter will be onboarded as a Foster for The Love Pit. We will determine the length of time needed until she can be adopted at that time.
