Hi! My name is Skipper and the reason my foster mom named me Skipper is that I always skip down the hall, throw my arms around her waist and give her kisses whenever I see her. Actually, I skip around and hug every human I come in contact with, when I'm not doing my famous Somersaults on the couch or in the front seat of the car when I'm going for a drive (which I just looove). I'm pretty silly and very sweet but my most favorite thing to do is to hang out with my humans. I also keep myself pretty busy with various chewies, I love antlers and horns and I even chew on those nylabones. My foster mom has absolutely fallen in love with me (she calls me her little buddy and gets very sad when she thinks about me leaving) but I really, really need a big, fenced-in yard to run around in and the house where I'm living now (with my foster mom's college-age nephews) doesn't have quite what I need. I really love hanging out, rough-housing and snuggling with the guys too but I think it's time for me to have my own family - preferably one without any other dogs in it because I'm a people-pup. I did have a really good Blue Heeler friend in my mom's house a few years ago but it took me a really long time to get used to being around another dog and I don't think I need any other dogs in my life. The ideal situation for me would be a single guy or gal who works from home and has a back yard with a big, tall wood fence all around it where I can run and bark at squirrels to my heart's content. I don't really need to be walked if I have a nice big yard where we can play together. We can just hang out and I can practice my Somersaults while you're working. Then we can snuggle up, eat animal crackers and watch movies . I'd like that. Skipper is participating in The Love Pit's iREHOME program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by TLP. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
