On April 27th 2019 I came across a post on Facebook regarding this sweet boy that desperately needed help and a foster. Buddy is my first rescue and he has complete won my heart. Buddy is approximately 3 years old, he is a brown brindle pit bull mix. When I first met Buddy he weighed only 47.8 pounds (see his before picture). Emaciated and in desperate need of medical attention and some TLC. Our first trip was to the vet to be checked out and get up to date on shots. During his exam, it was determined that Buddy was heartworm positive and would need treatment. This sweet boy had been dumped to just die by someone who simply didn't care about him at all. Despite the conditions he had been living in, the charisma and demeanor of this boy was like no other. He was as happy as can be, loving and just yearning for some loving. Shortly after getting his health and weight up, we began the treatments for heartworms, a series of multiple shots, a lot of downtime in the kennel to get him well and heartworm negative. This beautiful boy is now heartworm negative and as happy and healthy as can be weighing 74 pounds. On 10/24/19 we also took this boy in to be neutered. Unfortunately, the resident male in the home does not want to share his home with Buddy so Buddy is looking for a family to love him forever! Buddy is looking for an owner who is willing to continue his training and without small children as he is a big boy and can easily get excited. Buddy is participating in The Love Pit's iREHOME program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by TLP. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
